Homeopathy can treat cancer better caused due to tobacco consumption
Homeopathy medicines are effective in helping patients give up their tobacco addiction by controlling the withdrawal symptoms
Advanced cases of cancers of the lung, mouth and throat caused due to tobacco consumption, where patients have been advised against chemotherapy or surgery, can survive longer than expected, if treated with homeopathy. Homeopathy practitioner Dr Kalyan Banerjee, Founder, Dr Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic, said, “The alleviation of symptoms is in fact, sometimes, so dramatic with homeopathy that oncologists in many cases have revised their advice and put such patients on chemotherapy.”
Tobacco consumption is linked to many kinds of cancers, stroke and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), among others. Smoking doubles or quadruples the risk of coronary artery disease or stroke and raises the risk of developing lung cancer by 25 times. The causal link between smoking and other forms of tobacco use and serious, potentially life-threatening diseases is so strong, there is no safe way to consume tobacco. However, almost every condition linked to tobacco consumption can be managed with homeopathic treatment, exclusively or in combination with conventional medicine.
Talking about treating patients coping with mouth or throat cancer, Dr Banerjee also said, “Early lesions are often advised by oncologists to be surgically removed. This may mean removal of parts of the tongue, jaw and other parts of the throat or mouth. Homeopathic treatment by the doctors at our clinic can potentially heal these early lesions without surgery. It is important to monitor these cases closely and detect any progression early.”
Explained Dr Kushal Banerjee, Dr Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic, “Homeopathy provides effective management in cases of cancers of the mouth and throat that have undergone surgery. Homeopathy medicines help in quicker healing, pain alleviation and prevention of recurrence. Very frequently, homeopathy works in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiation, leading to better-than-expected outcomes. The doctors at our clinic, in fact, work closely with patients in various hospitals across Delhi-NCR to help them recover from their procedures. Often, the introduction of homeopathic treatment leads to a revised, shorter course of chemotherapy than the initial plan.”
He added, “People who consume tobacco should ponder on the impact of this habit deeply. Today, it is difficult to find a patient who is unaware of the potential harm of tobacco consumption. As with every other form of addiction, the first step is to identify that we have a problem. There is a lot of help that can be accessed by discussion of the problem with one’s doctor and more importantly, with friends and family. Patients must learn to withstand peer pressure regarding such habits and take back control of their own health.”
It is estimated that 47 per cent of men and 14 per cent of women consume tobacco in some form in India. This translates to a total of 154 million men and 41 million women. Tobacco consumption is significantly higher in poor and less educated classes as well as among scheduled castes and scheduled tribe populations.
