Heavy rains lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Monday evening and night, disrupting normal life and leaving many commuters stranded while they were returning from work. The downpour forced a temporary halt to the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal.

Several low-lying areas reported waterlogging, causing traffic snarls, as people struggled to make their way home amid the showers. The sudden spell of rain brought some relief from the summer heat but also led to significant inconvenience across the city.

According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), as of 10 p.m., Karwan recorded the highest rainfall at 28 mm, followed closely by Goshamahal with 27.8 mm. Other areas that received considerable rainfall included Mehdipatnam (26 mm), Gunfoundry (24.5 mm), Attapur (22 mm), Uppal (21.5 mm), Amberpet (19.8 mm), Santosh Nagar (19.5 mm), Falaknuma (16.5 mm), Khairatabad (12.8 mm), and LB Nagar (11.5 mm).
