Domestic help held for sexual assault of woman, daughter

Bhubaneswar: A 22-year-old household help was arrested in the city on Sunday for sexually assaulting his employer and her minor daughter. According to police reports, the perpetrator clicked photographs on his mobile phone for blackmail and sextortion of the woman and her daughter.
The accused is from Jajpur district and had recently taken up work at the woman's residence.
Police sources said the accused secretly photographed the 40-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter while working in their home. "He proceeded to blackmail them separately, with neither mother nor daughter aware of the other's ordeal. He sexually assaulted them for the last few weeks," a senior police officer said.
Recently, when the accused demanded money from the woman and she refused, he revealed photographs of her daughter, leaving her shocked. "The incident led to her discovering that her daughter was also being targeted," the officer said.
Subsequently, Behera forwarded photographs of both the mother and daughter to the woman's husband. He allegedly threatened them not to report the matter to police. The woman filed a police complaint on Saturday.
Police records indicated the accused had a previous assault case registered against him in Jajpur, though he had evaded arrest at that time.
