Vehicles prohibited from May 15 on Hassan bypass due to repair works at railway overbridge

Hassan Deputy Commissioner C. Sathyabhama has issued an order prohibiting vehicles on the Hassan bypass (NH 75) for a month from May 15 to allow the repair works at the railway overbridge near Rajiv College of Engineering. The bypass is part of the highway that connects Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

During the preparation for the repair works, which will go on till May 14, only light motor vehicles will be allowed on the stretch. However, from May 15 to June 14, no vehicle will be allowed on the stretch, the order stated.

The Deputy Chief Engineer (Bridge Line) of South Western Railway had written to the Deputy Commissioner to issue an order prohibiting vehicles on the stretch to allow the repair works. Considering the plea, Ms. Sathyabhama issued the order, which also stated the alternative routes for the vehicles commuting between Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

The public have been requested to take an alternative route via Bustenahalli Circle – Dairy Circle- Subedar Circle (Salagame Road) – Belur Road – Vijaya Nagara (80ft Road) and Devarayapatna Circle.
