The Anantapur police on Sunday (May 4) arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in betting on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches.
According to the Anantapur Rural sub-division police, the accused were operating out of the house of the main accused, Syamala Rajasekhar, in Kallur village. They were using the favourite points and ratings given by various apps to place their bets. The two other accused have been identified as Pemmaka Sudheer Reddy and Pemmaka Bhaskar Reddy, both residents of Tarimetla village in Singanamala mandal.
A case has been registered against them under the A.P. Gaming Act (cricket betting). A sum of ₹4.02 lakh and three mobile phones were seized from them.
