Cops start attachment of SP dist prez wife’s property in Pratapgarh
Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Sunday installed the property attachment board after confiscating the property registered in the name of Seema Yadav, wife of acting president of the district unit of the Samajwadi Party (SP) Gulshan Yadav, at plot No 352 (total 112 square metres) at Kunda block under the Kunda tehsil under section 14 (1) of the Gangsters Act.
The police, after identifying the property, vacated the house/plot and attached it under the Gangsters Act.
Last week, the court of the district magistrate (Pratapgarh) had ordered the attachment of properties worth over Rs 7 crore of Yadav under the Gangsters Act. He had as many as 53 criminal cases, including those of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, Gunda Act, Arms Act, Explosive Act, and Gangster Act, registered against him in different police stations of Pratapgarh and Prayagraj districts.
Yadav, once a key aide of Kunda MLA Raja Bhaiya, later became his political rival and even unsuccessfully contested the 2022 assembly election against him from the Kunda seat. The assets to be attached include residential land, luxury vehicles, and the seizure of all bank accounts of Yadav in connection with the case registered against him with Kunda police station under section 2/3 of the UP Gangsters Act (crime no 291/2014).
