CM likely to hold grievance redressal session in Berhampur this month
Berhampur: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi is likely to conduct a public grievance redressal session in Berhampur this month. Though the exact date and venue of the proposed session is yet to be finalised, a preliminary meeting in this regard was conducted by the general administration and public grievance department at Chhatrapur, the district headquarter town, on Saturday.
Besides department officials, district level officers, including Ganjam collector Dibya Jyoti Parida, attended the meeting. Nihar Ranjan Das, special secretary, general administration and public grievance, presided over the meeting.
"We are searching for a suitable place in the city for the proposed session. After finalization of the site, we will start preparing the venue," a senior officer in the district said.
Residents of eight southern Odisha districts, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada and Kalahandi, will attend the session which will be held from 8am to 1pm. Given the scorching heat, department officials have been directed to make adequate drinking water facilities for the attendees, sources said.
"Massive promotion of the session is needed in all the eight districts so that more and more people turn up to resolve their issues," Das said.
Apart from the CM, several other ministers and secretaries are likely to attend the public grievance session in Berhampur.
On April 21, the CM had conducted a similar session in Sambalpur which was also attended by 10 ministers and departmental secretaries.
