Nifty moved in a tight range of 82 points, and ended slightly below the psychologically crucial level of 15,700.
NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 259.75 points up at 80501.99 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Coral Newsprint(down 10.00 per cent), M K Exim India(down 9.60 per cent), Malu Paper Mill(down 8.84 per cent), Valson Ind(down 8.59 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(down 7.64 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 17 stocks closed in the green, while 33 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 12.5 points up at 24346.7.

On the BSE, G V Films, M K Exim India, Standard Cap, Bodhi Tree Multimedia and Maha Corp Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Force Motors, Parsharti Invst, Ind Link Chain, Desh Rakshak and Bio Green Paper touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
