A local holiday has been declared for Thanjavur district on May 7 in view of the Chithirai car festival of the Brahadeeswarar Temple.
All government offices and educational institutions in the district will remain closed on the day. However, the district treasury and sub treasuries will function with limited staff. May 24 would be a working day for the district in lieu of the local holiday, Collector B. Priyanka Pankajam said in a press release.
