Water supply to be suspended for 36 hours across 5 zones
Chennai: Piped drinking water supply will be suspended for 36 hours from Saturday in several parts of the city as Chennai Metro Rail Limited will be carrying out pipeline interconnection work, said Metrowater. Residents are advised to store drinking water in advance to meet their daily needs, it added.
CMRL will undertake pipeline interconnection work at Kellys Balfour Road in Anna Nagar zone (zone 8) from May 3, 8am to May 4, 8pm.

So, supply from Kilpauk water distribution station will be suspended, affecting several areas across five zones in the city.
In zone 4, Tondiarpet will experience a disruption, while in the Royapuram zone, areas such as Purasaiwalkam, Periamedu, Sowcarpet, Egmore, and Chintadripet will be affected. Eight areas Otteri, Ayanavaram, Perambur, Sembium, Kilpauk, Villivakkam, Kellys, and Triplicane in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar zone (zone 6), Anna Nagar (zone 8), and Teynampet (zone 9), will be affected.
In case of emergencies, water can be obtained through tankers by registering on Metrowater's website at https://cmwssb.tn.gov.in. Areas without a drinking water connection and areas with low pressure will receive water through tankers and street taps, and the water distribution will be carried out without any interruptions as usual in a systematic manner, Metrowater said.
