Members of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Nagar Colony Mutual Aided Co-operative Society have alleged that over 500 residential plots in Bhongir, which they purchased with proper legal papers over three decades ago, have been ‘usurped’.
According to them, third parties took control of the land using forged documents. They further alleged that the trail of the land grab leads back to associates of slain gangster Nayeemuddin.
At a press meet held at Neredmet on Friday, the society’s representatives claimed that land under Survey Nos. 722 to 724 and 726 to 733 of Bhongir, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, was fraudulently transferred despite a prohibition order meant to protect their interests. “We have been fighting this encroachment since 2008. It’s a clear case of land grabbing by criminal elements using fake documents, and yet, the authorities seem to be siding with the encroachers,” said a spokesperson.
The society members legally bought and registered plots in Bhongir back in 1993 and 1994, and the land records were updated at the Bhongir Tahsildar’s office.
However, the society claimed that in 2006, some people used forged papers to get control of the land. These people reportedly paid ₹4.69 crore in cash to others who had no legal right to the property. “The cash was given to the sons of Kancham Shankaraiah and the wife of Datrik Venkataiah — none of whom had ownership over the land we had already bought,” said a representative of the society.
They alleged that fake sale deeds were created and registered using document numbers 11121 to 11128 and others in 2006 and 2007. The society says these fraudulent deals were backed by bogus certificates from the revenue office. Official records now confirm the documents were fake. Those behind this have links with Nayeemuddin, they added.
Despite these findings, the society the Revenue Department has not marked the land boundaries, they said. They have even lifted the prohibition orders on land transactions, while ignoring the orders from the Revenue Court under the RoR Act, the members said.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been criticised. “We haven’t even been listed as victims, no charge-sheet has been filed, and the ₹4.69 crore cash transaction from 2006 hasn’t been investigated,” the society pointed out.
They added that to make things worse, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has not cancelled layout approvals for these disputed plots. “How can approvals still stand on land that’s under dispute with proof of forgery?” one member asked.
In their appeal to the State Government, the society demanded restoration of their names in revenue records, cancellation of illegal sale deeds and passbooks, a fresh ban on land sales, proper boundary marking, and final resolution of the issue.
