The neighbouring Chamarajanagar district slipped to 27th place from 24th last year. The district recorded a pass percentage of 61.4%, which was 71.6% previously.
Two students from the Mysuru district scored a perfect 625/625. Dhanush S, a student of Marimallappa's High School, and Thanya RN, a student of BKSVB High School, Vijayanagar, achieved this feat.
According to Dhanush, he set a goal of scoring 625/625 at the beginning of the academic year. "In the beginning, I was reading for two hours daily. The class tests, examination writing tips training, and group study with friends helped me achieve this goal. After the preparatory examination, I prepared a study timetable," said Dhanush, who took Sanskrit as the third language. He stated that his goal is to pursue medical education.
Another topper, Thanya, said her hard work paid off in the examination. She said she is also planning to pursue medical education after her II PUC. "I didn't take any tuition. I am confident about my preparations," she said. "I preferred to study during the night. Sometimes I studied till 2am, 3am," she said.
Meanwhile, DDPI ST Javaregowda said the results come as a disappointment as their target was to be one of the top five districts. "We will review the results and take corrective measures to improve the pass percentage," she said.
