NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.37 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 1.95 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.68 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.2 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 1.0 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank Ltd.(down 2.95 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.82 per cent at 55541.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 239.5 points at 24573.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 888.97 points at 81131.21.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Eternal, Vishal Mega Mart, Indian Oil Corp. and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Reliance Naval & Engg, Coromandel Int., Privi Speciality Chemicals, UPL (PP)and Bannari Amman hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Zenith Exports, AGS Transact Tech, Gensol Engg, GI Engineering and Praj Ind. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
