Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will look to continue their marsh towards the IPL 2025 playoffs, hoping to notch up their sixth successive win of the year as they take on Rajasthan Royals in match no. 50 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday. Hardik Pandya’s MI are currently in 3rd place on the points table with 12 points and can join Royal Challengers Bengaluru on top with 14 points with a win over RR.
On the other hand, RR have kept their slim hopes of qualifying for the Playoffs alive with an imposing eight-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in their last match thanks to 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record-breaking century. In spite of that win, the hosts RR only have 6 points from 10 matches and are currently in 8th place and can only reach 14 points with wins in all of their remaining matches and even that might not be enough.
RR are likely to miss regular skipper Sanju Samson once again due to abdominal injury and Riyan Parag will continue to lead the side. They are unlikely to make too many changes to a winning unit for Thursday night’s match.
For MI, South African Corbin Bosch had made an impressive debut by replacing unwell all-rounder Mitchell Santner. It will be interesting to see if skipper Hardik Pandya will bring back Santner if he is fit to play again.
