Rajkot: The murder of a 22-year-old labour contractor in Anjar's Varsamedi on April 26 has been traced back to his own elder brother.
The victim Vinay Yadav's body with multiple stab wounds inflicted by a sharp weapon was found near a company.
When the police scanned CCTV footage and gathered human intelligence, it was revealed that someone close to Yadav had killed him. After gathing more evidence, a police team detained Vinay's brother Ajay from Uttar Pradesh where he fled after the murder.
During interrogation, Ajay confessed to the crime, citing unresolved financial disputes as the motive. He alleged that Vinay had withheld his share of earnings and funds invested in their labour contracting business. Vinay managed labuor operations, while Ajay was responsible for recruiting workers from their hometown in Jharkhand.
Harbouring resentment, Ajay purchased a sharp weapon in Anjar and used it to fatally attack his brother.
