Foxconn has started producing Apple AirPods at its Hyderabad plant for export purposes.

The company’s new iPhone facility in Bengaluru will begin operations soon and is expected to produce up to 20 million units annually.

The Bengaluru plant, set up with a Rs 25,000 crore investment, will be Foxconn’s second-largest unit outside China.

Trial production of the iPhone 17 series has begun in India, with Tata Electronics also manufacturing components like casings. Tata Electronics’ new plant in Hosur has started assembling older iPhone models and will soon begin shipments.

Apple aims to shift production of over 60 million iPhones annually to India by 2026, targeting complete US demand from Indian plants.
