Nandamuri Balakrishna was honored the coveted Padma Bhushan award on April 28, 2025 at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. After receiving the third-highest civilian award, the actor has found himself in warm waters.

In a clip shared by ANI, Balakrishna was seen achieving the award from the President, to which a netizen wrote, “What did he achieve?”

Another added, “Isn’t he the same guy who played a role in the Urvashi Rautela-starrer Daaku Maharaj?” while another stated, “Kaise kaise gadhe ko milta hai Padma Bhushan.” A third wrote, “These awards lose their value when given to people without character. Entertainment to some is not art.” The actor reserved his name for the award back in January when the final list of recipients was revealed. He has been felicitated for his contribution in Indian cinema.

On the professional front, Nandamuri Balakrishna was recently seen in Daaku Maharaaj. The action film, directed and co-written by Bobby Kolli, features the story of Sitaram, an erstwhile IES officer who roamed into the village to strike off the water scarcity issues. He becomes a saviour when a rich tyrannical family becomes the destroyer of peace in the area.

The film also featured Bobby Deol, marking his Telugu debut. It starred Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Sachin Khedekar, Makarand Deshpande, Urvashi Rautela, in the ensemble.
