Ahmedabad: An email has emerged from a company conducting clinical trials at VS Hospital, said sources investigating the alleged scam. The correspondence shows that the company's representative declined to transfer funds into savings account of Priyanka Rana, wife of accused Dr Devang Rana. Despite facing pressure, the company sought advice from their chartered accountant and subsequently refused the transfer, citing that Rana was not affiliated with either the clinical trials or the ethics committee. The firm expressed concerns about potential future implications.
Sources investigating the alleged scam indicated that firms conducting clinical trials at VS Hospital were pressured into transferring money into bank accounts not associated with VS Hospital, clinical research activities, or the ethics committee. According to the email, the private company received an invoice dated November 19, 2024, specifying various accounts for fund transfers, including that of Rana's, despite her non-involvement in the clinical research. This correspondence serves as evidence of alleged illegal clinical trials and questionable financial transactions at VS Hospital.
