SLUG: SOCIAL MEDIA WAR
Rajkot: A recent verbal duel escalated between Jyotiradityasinh, alias Ganesh Jadeja, son of former MLA Jayrajsinh Jadeja, and several Patidar leaders, including Alpesh Kathiria, Varun Patel, and Jigisha Patel on Sunday.
Following a meeting in Sultanpur village of Gondal taluka, where Ganesh Jadeja openly challenged Kathiria and others, Kathiria and his supporters arrived in Gondal on Sunday. This led to street protests by Ganesh Jadeja's supporters, who allegedly vandalised four vehicles belonging to Kathiria's supporters.
Police sub-inspector Vanrajsinh Jadeja lodged a complaint at Gondal City B Division police station against Ganesh Jadeja's supporters — Indrasinh Jadeja, Pintu Savaliya, Pushpraj Vala, Lakkirajsinh, Nilesh Chavda, and others, for rioting, unlawful assembly, and other sections of the BNS Act. The complaint detailed the sequence of events where four vehicles were damaged, resulting in a loss of over Rs 1 lakh.
Police inspector J P Gosai confirmed the arrest of Pushpraj Vala and Nilesh Chavda. Police teams were looking for other suspects.
In a counter-complaint filed at Gondal City B Division police station under BNS section 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), Pushpraj Vala accused a car driver, from Kathiria's group, of attempting to murder him and his supporters by deliberately driving at a high speed into the crowd. Police sources confirmed that when Kathiria and his supporters arrived in Gondal, they encountered opposition from hundreds of people. Mobile phone footage captured the incident where a car allegedly attempted to drive through the gathered crowd.
