Heatwave is back: Chandigarh reels at 41°C
Chandigarh: Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 41.1°C on Saturday, around 4.2°C above the seasonal normal, as the region continued to endure an intense spell of dry and hot weather. According to the Meteorological Centre Chandigarh, the minimum temperature was 19.8°C, slightly below normal.
The Tricity area — Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula — is expected to see mainly clear skies for the next five days. Daytime temperatures are likely to stay around 41°C until the end of April, before dipping slightly to 39°C by May 1. Minimum temperatures are also expected to rise, reaching 25°C midweek.
No immediate relief is in sight, with above-normal temperatures expected to continue into early May.
