Plan to ensure summer water supply in state
Lucknow: The state govt rolled out a plan to ensure there is no drinking water problem during the summer months.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed all divisional commissioners to conduct regular reviews and all district magistrates were asked to remain alert 24/7 to ensure an uninterrupted water supply.
A govt spokesperson said that in areas where infrastructure work for providing tap water is still pending, alternative arrangements will be made to maintain a continuous water supply. Drinking water facilities will also be provided at public places such as tehsils, police stations, hospitals and Anganwadi centres.
Govt is also carrying out awareness programmes on the importance of clean water and precautions against heatwaves, encouraging villagers to conserve and consume safe water.
"The ultimate goal of this campaign is to ensure that no rural family in the state faces a water crisis, and that life remains unaffected even during extreme heat conditions. Govt is also prioritising water availability in community toilets and other public facilities," said the official.
