Noida man on way to deliver food dies in road accident
Noida: A food delivery agent was killed earlier this week in Noida when a speeding motorcycle rammed his vehicle. The victim's father filed a complaint on Thursday, alleging the accused also damaged his son's motorcycle.
On April 20, 25-year-old Sanjeet was on his way to deliver an order around 9.30pm. As he crossed Sector 72, a two-wheeler bearing a UP registration plate rammed into him. The bike was speeding, Sanjeet's father Jaswant alleged in his complaint.
Sanjeet sustained serious injuries, and by the time his father took him to the govt hospital in Sector 39, he died. Further, the bike was completely broken, said the complainant.
Police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 106(1) (causing death by negligence), and 324(4) (mischief). Further investigation is underway.
In 2024, traffic cops issued 28 lakh challans, of which 1.7 lakh were issued for wrong-side driving. The city recorded 1,165 accidents last year in which 462 people died and 966 people were injured.
