T'puram: The ombudsman for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, L Sam Franklin, submitted the operational report for the fiscal year 2024-25 to the govt. The report was handed over to the district collector on Thursday.
During the reporting period, 222 complaints related to the scheme's implementation were received, out of which 211 were resolved. The resolved complaints included issues such as denial of entitled wages, denial of work, appointment of supervisors, delay in the timely allocation of funds for construction works and denial of workplace facilities.
The ombudsman conducted direct visits to 11 block panchayats and 73 village panchayats in the district. It was ensured that adequate basic facilities were arranged at all workplaces. TNN
