Hyderabad police begins verification of 208 Pak nationals living in city on different visas
Hyderabad: Following orders issued by the ministry of external affairs (MEA), Hyderabad police started verification of Pakistan nationals living in the city on different visas. According to records, there are 208 Pakistanis currently living in various parts of Hyderabad.
Of these, 156 hold a long-term visa and 13 hold a short-term visa, while the remaining 39 are visiting India on a medical or business visa.

“We initiated the paperwork today since the govt has given them time till April 27. Only those on a medical visa have time till April 29,” said an official from the special branch that monitors Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals in Hyderabad. “Until Thursday evening, we were verifying records to identify Pakistani nationals who came on a SAARC visa as the initial order was directed only at them. We found nobody on that visa in Hyderabad. Once the order was revised, we started collating the data,” the official added.
Police officials said that on April 27 they will coordinate with immigration officials to ensure all Pakistanis have left the city. “Once we do that, we will also conduct physical verifications on the ground,” the official said.
The special branch officials periodically summon Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals living in the city to keep tabs on their whereabouts.
