Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Wednesday ordered sweeping security measures across all 50 districts and, in particular, along the western frontier, in wake of the terror attack in Pahalgam. In a video conference with divisional commissioners, range inspectors-general, police commissioners, collectors, and superintendents of police, Sharma demanded "special alertness" in districts abutting the border and round-the-clock coordination with intelligence and security agencies. He directed additional director-general (ADG) range heads to tour their jurisdictions, review ground deployments, and file twice-daily situation reports to the home department.
DGP UR Sahoo issued an advisory asking commissioners and SPs to map sensitive localities, intensify patrols, erect pickets, and ensure visible deployment at markets, tourist sites, and transport hubs. Hotels, guest houses, and dharamshalas were told to verify guests. tnn
