Prayagraj: A major fire broke out in the Gajehada forest area in Pratapgarh on Thursday. Three fire tenders took around three hours to contain the blaze. Chief fire officer (Pratapgarh) Raju Upadhyay told TOI: "The fire broke out around one km area of the forest, and three fire tenders were deployed to control the fire. Teams of the forest department, police, and environment activists also helped firemen to control the fire." Environment activist Ajay Krantikari told TOI that the timely intervention prevented fire from spreading.
