Ahmedabad: A 30-year-old man was severely beaten by four men when he went to assist his friend in a burglary. A case of grievous hurt was registered by the Bopal police on Tuesday. The incident occurred on Monday night near the Atul Bakery in the Shilaj Canal Road area.
The complainant, Bhavesh Parmar, mentioned in his report that he was walking near the AMC guard post when he met his friend, Vijay, and the two decided to take a ride together. Around 10pm, they travelled through areas like Vastrapur and Thaltej before reaching the Shilaj area. While they were standing near a flat, Vijay informed Bhavesh of his intention to break into a cake shop nearby.
Vijay proceeded to break the shop's lock and entered inside while Bhavesh stood guard outside. Moments later, four unknown men appeared and began questioning Bhavesh about his name and purpose. When Bhavesh failed to provide satisfactory answers, the men noticed the broken lock of the shop and assumed he was involved in the theft. The group then attacked Bhavesh, with one man claiming to be the shop owner. Two of the attackers were armed with sticks and began beating Bhavesh, focusing blows to his head.
As the assault continued, Bhavesh began bleeding from his head. He was rushed to the Sola Civil Hospital, where he received four stitches for his head injury. After receiving treatment, Bhavesh was discharged and brought to the Bopal police station for further questioning. Bopal police are now investigating the case.
