Delhi continues to face power cuts amid scorching heat: AAP

Published - April 23, 2025 07:37 am IST

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) again on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) alleged that the city was witnessing long power cuts amid scorching heat.

“Yesterday, Delhi’s temperature reached 40 degree Celsius. Even in this scorching heat, many areas experienced power outages for hours at night. But Chief Minister Rekha Gupta says there are no power cuts in Delhi, and people are lighting candles themselves and enjoying candlelight dinners. People are in distress, address the issue of power cuts they are facing,” said Leader of the Opposition Atishi.

The senior AAP leader also shared on social media platform X a purported video of the CM stating that the AAP leaders are having candlelight dinners and alleging that there are power cuts, but in reality, there are no power cuts.

“Rekha Guptaji, are all these Delhiites lying? Are the residents of Kamla Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Bhogal, and Uttam Nagar all lying? Have they all turned off their lights voluntarily and lit candles for candlelight dinners?” she asked.

There was no reaction from the BJP.
