MP to launch highway improvement work

Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada MP, will launch the improvement of Port Connectivity Road — NH 75 from B.C. Road to Nanthoor and NH 66 from Nanthoor to Surathkal — on Thursday at Surathkal.

A statement from the MP’s office here said the highways developed by New Mangalore Port Road Company Ltd. would be improved with relaying of certain stretches and repair of some other stretches, at an estimated cost of ₹28.58 crore by M/s Mugrodi Constructions.

MLAs Y. Bharath Shetty, D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Rajesh Naik, and NMPRCL officials would be present at the launch event near Govinda Dasa College at 3.30 p.m.
