Association seeks CM’s intervention

Published - April 23, 2025 12:24 am IST - CHENNAI

The Tamil Nadu AIDS Control All Employees Welfare Association is continuing its fight against reduction of salary for 650 counsellors and laboratory technicians working in Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres in Primary Health Centres and is demanding grant of 20% salary hike that is pending for four years.

The association urged the Chief Minister and Health Minister to intervene and resolve the issues amicably. The association, in its meeting held recently, resolved to seek the support of Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association for its upcoming protest at the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) on April 25.

The counsellors and laboratory technicians are facing the risk of salary cuts after the National AIDS Control Organisation informed TANSACS of withholding its share of the fund towards payment of salaries, the association had said earlier.
