The 3rd Service post 1 year:
The City had its 3rd periodic service yesterday. We returned from a trip to Varanasi last week through showering rains and muddy roads so it was a good time to get it serviced and give it a thorough underbody wash. The car averaged 20.5 KMPL during the 1000 Km round trip.
The car has done approximately 5400 kms and except the regular service, nothing else was required to be done.
The engine oil volume the City takes is 3.3 ltrs. Opted for synthetic oil as anyway the mineral oil option was not available. The engine oil cost is around Rs. 2700/- while the oil filter costs Rs. 205/- including the drain washer.
The air filter was little dirty hence I opted for change, though the interval is 20K kms. Costs Rs. 456/- The AC cabin filter, as per the schedule, was to be changed (Rs. 913/-) but it was as clean as almost new, hence it wasn't replaced. Front brake pads were opened and the accumulated brake dust was cleaned. Calipers were NOT lubricated.
Total bill for parts was around Rs. 3500/- as the labour charges were waived off being the 3rd free service. From now on, the maintenance schedule is an annual affair. The good part, everything was done under 2.5 hours and hence was a relatively quick in-out affair.
