A.P. mountaineer gets ₹1 lakh aid to scale Mount Dhaulagiri

District Collector P. Ranjith Basha on Monday announced a financial assistance of ₹1 lakh to mountaineer Suresh Babu to encourage his forthcoming expedition to Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest peak in the world, located in Nepal.

The financial support was from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Geo Mysore Company. The Collector handed over the cheque to the 25-year-old resident of Gonegandla in the district, at the Collectorate. The official appreciated the youth, referring to his achievements of scaling the Mount Everest and over 25 peaks globally. Mr. Suresh Babu had set a record by summiting the highest peaks in five continents in a short span.
