Mysuru: Mysuru division of the South Western Railway, is on track to achieve 100% railway route electrification by the end of 2027. As of now, an impressive 92.46% of the work is complete.
According to Ravishankar, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (SDEE), Mysuru division, electrification is complete, on 1,621 km out of the total 1,722 km railway route in the division. The remaining works include a 32-km ghat section between Sakleshpur and Subramanya, a 68-km stretch between Amaravati and Kotturu, and a 1-2 km portion near Nanjangud. Once complete, this project will significantly enhance the efficiency, speed, and sustainability of train operations in the region. TNN
