GA plans counteroffensive ahead of PM’s state visit
Patna: Congress legislature party (CLP) leader in the state assembly, Shakeel Ahmad Khan, on Sunday said the opposition Grand Alliance (GA) partners will meet at RJD neta Tejashwi Prasad Yadav's residence on April 23 and at the Congress state headquarters the following day to "expose" PM Modi, who will visit Bihar on April 24.
The coordination committee meeting of the GA is scheduled on April 24.
"There will be a meeting of the GA partners at Tejashwi's residence on April 23. We will ask hard-hitting questions to PM Modi before his visit to Madhubani on April 24. He has let down not only his ally and CM Nitish Kumar, but also the people of the state by making false promises in the last 12 years," the Kadwa MLA told this newspaper on Sunday.
He said the Sadaquat Ashram meeting on April 24 is of coordination committee, led by RJD neta Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, to discuss many important issues and "expose" PM Modi's speech in Madhubani the same day. "There is still a lot of work left, like formation of various committees and preparation of a draft common manifesto for the assembly election. We will also plan our outreach programmes," Khan said.
The CLP leader alleged that the BJP was trying to lay a political trap around CM Nitish in a bid to harass him. "They (BJP) have harassed him and that's why we always sympathise with him. But his govt has to be uprooted," he said, but denied the possibility of Congress joining hands with Nitish and his JD (U).
On the possibility of LJP (RV) chief and Union minister Chirag Paswan becoming the Bihar CM, Khan said if he had the courage, he should first go to Adani and Ambani and get reservation for the dalits in private organisations.
Chirag had recently expressed his wish to return to Bihar politics and serve the state.
Khan dismissed speculations on the Grand Alliance CM face and said it is a process and everything would happen gradually and on time. "We are united and will go to the people and take to the streets against the NDA govt," he said.
