HYDERABAD
The people of Telangana did not believe in the local leaders of the Congress and that was the reason why they had got the election promises made by the AICC leaders, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao said.
Speaking at a party meeting held here on Sunday to admit Sriram Reddy, a Congress leader from the Attapur Division, along with his supporters in the presence of Maheshwaram MLA P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, in-charge of BRS for Rajendranagar constituency and party leader P. Karthik Reddy and others, he said as the Chief Minister during 2014-23 K. Chandrasekhar Rao would always tell the party leaders that they should always compliment the good work/schemes done/implemented by the previous governments.
People would always remember former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for sowing seeds for IT sector development in Hyderabad and another former CM Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for introducing the Aarogya Sri scheme. But unfortunately, even the national leaders of the Congress had betrayed the Telangana people, as most of the promises made by them remain unfulfilled even 17 months after the party has come to power.
Instead, the Congress government was concentrating on razing the houses of the poor in the name of HYDRAA, FTL and Buffer Zone. However, the Congress leaders’ houses were not being touched though they are very much within the FTL and Buffer Zone of the water bodies. The Congress leaders were accusing that he (KTR) has land in Rajendranagar and it was their responsibility to show such lands to prove their allegation.
The enthusiasm of those who had come from Rajendranagar indicated that Mr. Karthik Reddy would soon become an MLA, as by-elections to several constituencies, including Rajendranagar and Chevella, due to the defection of the BRS MLAs to the ruling Congress.
