A crane collapsed at a construction site in a hospital building in Muralidhar Bagh of Abids, Hyderabad, on Friday (April 18, 2025) evening, amid intense winds. The police said that a woman security officer was injured, and there was minor damage to property.
The incident was reported at a block in Arogya Hospital premises, which had been purchased by CARE Hospitals for redevelopment. The construction work was underway at the time of the accident.
Abids police detective inspector K. Narasimha said that strong winds swept through the area, impacting the crane moments before it toppled over and crashed into the partially built third floor of the structure. The force of the collapse damaged part of the third floor and some equipment inside the building. No casualties were reported. A case was booked and investigation is underway to ascertain the conditions that caused the accident.
