Health minister orders medical camp in Mancherial village to address kidney disease cases
Hyderabad: Telangana health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Friday directed department officials to set up a medical camp at Mala Gurijala village in Mancherial to conduct medical tests for the residents.
The minister was responding to media reports that several people in the village were suffering from kidney ailments. Rajanarsimha asked the officials to find out how many people in the village were suffering from kidney disease and the reasons behind it. He also ordered tests on samples of water consumed by people in the village.
According to a source, a team of doctors from the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) will visit the village in the next few days. The minister suggested that the patients be provided with necessary medical assistance and medicines free of cost. He also directed the department officials to submit a report with full details to him.
According to the report, around 25 people have died due to kidney problems in the village in the last five years, while around 40 people are currently suffering from the disease.
