Mahana directs officials to expedite devpt projects
Kanpur: Work of three out of four phases for Kanpur Ring Road has commenced, and tender process for the fourth one is under process, said the officials in a meeting held to review the development projects in Kanpur district on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Speaker of the UP Legislative Assembly Satish Mahana. The officials confirmed that land acquisition was also ongoing.
During the review of Kanpur-Lucknow expressway construction work, NHAI officials said the project to be executed in two phases, begins at Shaheed Path junction in six lanes and will end at Bani. The second phase would be elevated and descend near the Outer Ring Road, where a junction would be constructed.
During the meeting, the Speaker discussed the problems of residents and directed that work be done by establishing departmental coordination. While reviewing the Sabsi lake work, he instructed that the work should ensure the structure becomes better and safer.
Mahana, while reviewing the airport link road, asked the officials to ensure that work is carried out on war footing by removing obstacles in construction of road from Jajmau to Chakeri Airport.
He directed the authorities that the work of Mega Leather Cluster be completed by May 31. Directing the Kanpur Development Authority officials, he said the authority should preserve its land and work towards developing parks, ponds and reservoirs for water conservation.
MD Kesco was directed to begin the underground electrical cable work in Lal Bangla Market on war footing. While reviewing the Defence Corridor, he directed that any hurdles in land acquisition should be immediately resolved. The municipal commissioner was instructed to ensure that silt is removed during drain cleaning in all lcalities and roads be cleaned.
Mayor Pramila Pandey, MLAs Neelima Katiyar, Saroj Kureel, Surendra Maithani and Mahesh Trivedi and other senior officials of all the depatments were present in the meeting.
