BJP opposes caste census without knowing details: Rai

Mangaluru: The caste census, conducted in alignment with the aspirations of democratic equality, will aid the majority of the weaker sections in the state, said former minister B Ramanath Rai.
He told reporters on Friday, that opposing the caste census is not right. Speaking at a press conference, he stated that the caste census report has not yet been presented. If the census data is incorrect, it can be corrected. However, opposing it without the report being presented and without knowing the details is unacceptable. Conducting a caste census is a promise in the Congress party's manifesto, aimed at eliminating inequalities in society, the Congress leader said.
