3 held with MDMA worth Rs 2 lakh

Mandya: Three people from Kerala were arrested on charges of possessing 77 grams of MDMA, which is valued around Rs 2 lakh, at Mahaveer Circle in Mandya on Thursday.
They were nabbed after police officers noticed a car with tinted windows and attempted to stop the vehicle, Mandya East police sources said. When they were being intercepted, one of the suspects tried to flee with a bag but was quickly overpowered by the police personnel, police stated.
Upon inspection, the bag allegedly contained 77 grams of MDMA. During interrogation, the trio allegedly confessed that they sourced the drugs from a Kerala native in Bengaluru and were en route to Kerala, police stated. However, due to a navigational error, they ended up in Mandya. Before continuing their journey, they planned to stop for lunch — a decision that led to their arrest.
Police officials suspect that this was not the first time the trio were involved in drug trafficking.
