The Mambalam police on Friday arrested a former employee of a textile showroom in T. Nagar for allegedly barging into the showroom with a knife and assaulting a staff.
According to the police, around 11 a.m., Ezhilarasan, 32, entered Pothys Traditional Shopping Centre on South Usman Road and assaulted Mansur with a knife. Mansur sustained injury on his fingers. Ezhilarasan was caught immediately and handed over to police.
The interrogation revealed that Ezhilarasan had been hired for a billing job at the showroom a year ago, but was dismissed due to poor performance. Holding Mansur responsible the loss of his job, Ezhilarasan planned to murder him.
