BJP functionary arrested in cheating case in Tiruppur

A local BJP functionary, Navinkumar (36) of Sellandiamman Kovil Street in Avinashi police station limits, was arrested based on a complaint lodged by a woman that he had used foul words when she had asked him to return then money he had taken for allotment of a government tenement at Soolai.

According to the complainant, Anandhi, the accused had used foul words and had caused her fall with his car. The Avinashi police took the statement of Anandhi from the Government Medical College Hospital in Tiruppur where she was admitted for treatment, arrested Navinkumar and had him remanded in judicial custody at the Avinashi sub-jail.

Man arrested for child marriage in Coimbatore

A man, father of two children, was arrested by Pollachi Taluk police under POCSO Act for abducting a minor girl and allegedly marrying her forcibly. Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, the police rescued her and arrested the man, Sivakumar of Vellaigoundanur village.
