Over 9,000 trucks to resume services in Mysuru after strike called off

Published - April 17, 2025 08:05 pm IST - MYSURU

With the truckers’ strike being called off following “successful talks” with the government, trucks in Mysuru hit the road on Thursday evening, resuming goods transport operations which had come to a halt over the indefinite State-wide strike.

Mysore Lorry Owners’ Association president Kodandaram, who was in Bengaluru with the State committee members for a meeting with the Transport Minister, said the strike has been called off following the government’s assurances on the truckers’ demands.

He said over 9,000 trucks had gone off the roads in Mysuru due to the strike, and these trucks will resume services. The strike had affected the livelihood of the people dependent on the trucking sector, which has around 18,000 workers, including drivers and assistants in Musuru.

“The goods transport will be smooth from Friday,” he added.
