Security intensified along India-Nepal border in Madhubani ahead of PM visit
Madhubani: An unprecedented security arrangement is being put in place for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Jhanjharpur subdivision in the border district of Madhubani to mark the Panchayati Raj Diwas on April 24.
The event, set to take place near Videshwarsthan under Bhairav Sthan police station in Jhanjharpur, will see PM Modi address a mammoth gathering and announce several public welfare initiatives.
Security has been intensified along Madhubani's over 140km open border with Nepal, with Sashastra Seema Bal increasing its vigilance. The Special Protection Group (SPG), alongside intelligence agencies, is on high alert.
Over 200 CCTV cameras have been installed at the venue and surrounding areas, enabling a real-time monitoring by the SPG and intelligence units. These "third eye" surveillance systems will track vehicles, individuals and suspicious activities, ensuring swift action by quick response teams, if needed.
Madhubani district magistrate Arvind Kumar Verma and superintendent of police Yogendra Kumar are overseeing the meticulous preparations.
