Ranchi: Two armed criminals on Tuesday beat up a flower seller and looted around Rs 1.65 lakh at gunpoint from his shop on the Kanke road under the Gonda police station area, police said on Tuesday.
The closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage of the incident showed that the miscreants covered their faces and entered the shop pointing a gun at the owner, Rakesh Kumar. They pulled down the shop's shutter and then slapped Rakesh while asking for money.
The assailants took away the cash from the two counters in the shop and fled from the spot within 10 minutes.
The Gonda police station officer in charge, Abhay Kumar Sinha, said, "The exact amount of the looted money has not been ascertained as no complaint has not been lodged, so far. We are trying to identify the criminals through the CCTV footage."
