After his heroics against Mumbai Indians, all eyes were on Delhi Capitals' Karun Nair when he arrived at the crease in the third over in the IPL match against Rajasthan Royals in Delhi. But, much to the disappointment of the home crowd, he was run out for a duck.

KL Rahul and Abhishek Porel then added 63 for the third wicket before the former was caught by Shimron Hetmyer off Jofra Archer for 38.

Soon afterwards, Porel was dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga one short of his fifty, leaving Delhi at 105/4.

Earlier, Porel had hammered Tushar Desphande for 23 in the second over. But DC's other opener Jake Fraser-McGurk's poor run continued, with the Aussie being caught at mid-off by Yashasvi Jaiswal off Jofra Archer for nine.

Rajasthan Royals had won the toss and opted to bowl at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

DC currently sit second on the points table with four wins, while RR are close to the bottom in eighth place.

After winning four consecutive matches, Delhi Capitals faced a narrow 12-run defeat in their last outing against Mumbai Indians, despite a blistering 89-run knock from Karun Nair.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals suffered a heavy loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, going down by 9 wickets in their previous match.
