Hubballi: The driver and conductor of a NWKRTC bus, returned a bag containing jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh, along with important documents, to its rightful owner, after the passenger left it behind on a bus.
Chandrika Siddappa Pawar, a Bagalkot resident was travelling with her family to Konnur on April 14. She accidentally left behind a bag that had a gold necklace worth Rs 1.5 lakh, an ATM card, an Aadhaar card, and some cash. At Hosur bus station, Hubballi, conductor MI Honda noticed the bag on a passenger seat. Upon inspection with driver RP Pujar, they found a gold necklace, Aadhaar card, ATM card, and cash inside the bag. Through station officer Subhas Lankennavar, they contacted the owner of the bag, using the phone number on the Aadhaar card, and the bag was returned to the rightful owner in the presence of senior officials.
Chandrika expressed her gratitude. Divisional controller H Ramanagoudar praised the driver and conductor, and said it as an inspiration for other employees. Officials Deepak Jadhav, Sangappa Matoli, Manjunath Kattimani, Vijaykumar Kumatalli, Hanumanthappa Itagi, and others were present.
