Woman cop in Coimbatore transferred for favouring suspect

Coimbatore: Inspector K Ruckmani, attached to the east all women police station, was transferred to the city police control room on Sunday for allegedly supporting a man against whom a young woman lodged a complaint a few days ago.
A couple returned to Coimbatore from abroad a few days ago. When the couple walked out of the Coimbatore International Airport, a woman stopped them and argued with the man alleging that he had cheated her. A video of the incident went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the victim woman lodged a complaint with the east all women police against the man. Police issued a community service registrar. However, Ruckmani allegedly supported the man instead of the victim.
The allegation was brought to the notice of the city police commissioner A Saravana Sundar, who sought a detailed report. Police inquiry confirmed that Ruckmani and a few others received money from the man for not taking any action against him.
Following the report, the commissioner directed Ruckmani to report to the police control room immediately on Sunday.
