A violent confrontation broke out at Riddhi Siddhi Paradise Society in Pune’s Dhayari area when society members asked a person to remove illegal construction on the property. The clash occurred around 11:30 a.m. and has left the local community stunned, especially after a video emerged showing people being physically assaulted—some women were even dragged by their hair and subjected to verbal abuse.

The violence broke out after the society issued a formal notice to a flat owner, whose tenants had initiated illegal fabrication work in the parking area using metal sheets nearly 15 to 20 days prior. Despite the notice, no action was taken, prompting the society to call a general body meeting on April 13, where all members unanimously agreed to dismantle the unauthorized construction.

Anil Bhimravji Daroli, a long-time resident and secretary of the society, lodged a complaint at Sinhagad Road Police Station following the assault. According to his statement, the flat in question was rented out to the accused—Mallika Sameer Paygude Gajre and Sameer Manohar Paygude—who were staying there as tenants.

Prior to the removal of the illegal structure, police officials visited the premises for inspection. However, before the demolition could begin, the situation spiraled out of control. Mallika Paygude allegedly began shouting and abusing women members of the society. The verbal altercation soon turned physical when Sameer Paygude, armed with an iron rod, charged at Daroli and threatened him, saying, “You’re not listening to us? Wait, we’ll show you!” He then attacked Daroli and also pulled the hair of several women members.

Mallika allegedly continued to abuse and assault the women during the incident. The violent act was captured on video, which has since gone viral and caused widespread outrage.

Based on the complaint and available evidence, the Sinhagad Road Police have registered a case against the accused under the following sections of the Indian Penal Code:

The investigation is ongoing, and the incident has stirred concerns among residents about safety and law enforcement within residential complexes.
