Mysuru: It was a festive fervour at JSS College for Women, Saraswathipuram, with the department of arts organising the Varnika Arts Fest-2025.
SP Umadevi, author and retired Kannada professor, advised the students to participate in co-curricular activities, which leads to gaining human values. She asked the students to adopt human values in life. Umadevi, explaining ‘Janani Janma Bhoomi', highlighted that India has a rich culture. "Modernisation is different from civilisation; we should give importance to civilisation. If we love ourselves, we can be happy in life," she said.
Writer and retired professor S Mallanna said that the present education system is marks-oriented. He described culture as the pursuit of perfection. Speaking about former President of India Abdul Kalam and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, he said individual performance is important and hard work leads to success.
Film actor and director Vicky Varun shared his college life experiences at JSS College. He suggested students overcome stage fear and gain the courage to face any situation in life. Courage will help everyone achieve anything in life, he said.
Morabada Mallikarjuna, director, college education division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, said that internal beauty is more important than external beauty. He highlighted that inner conscience must be developed and advised the students to develop the courage to face problems in life.
